Chemical Peel - Obagi Blue Peel Radiance®
The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance contains a unique blend of Salicylic, Glycolic and Lactic acid to provide a gentle but effective peel, resulting in tighter, smoother, brighter looking skin immediately after just one use. Salicylic acid based peels are used to improve various skin concerns including acne, hyperpigmentation, sun damage and melasma. Blue Peel Radiance effectively exfoliates the uppermost damaged skin layers, leaving your skin fresh, renewed and radiant. The active ingredient is 20% Salicylic acid, which is particularly effective for treating a wide range of skin concerns. This is a light to medium chemical peel, which is ideal for anyone that wants to reduce sun damage, acne break outs, scarring, blemishes, pigmentation and fine lines.
What can I expect during treatment?
At the start of the procedure the skin will be thoroughly cleansed. The lips and corners of the eyes and nose are then covered with a small amount of Vaseline to protect the sensitive areas. The Blue Peel Radiance Prep Solution is then applied to clean, dry skin, and the skin is left to dry completely.
The Blue Peel Radiance is then applied in order to achieve even results. You may experience mild tingling for the duration of the application. The peel remains on the skin for up to 10-12 minutes after application of the first layer. The peel is then removed by applying Nu-Derm Gentle Cleanser with a sponge or gauze and then rinsing with water. A mineral based SPF 50 is then applied to the skin.
What results can I expect?
Immediately after your treatment, you should notice that your skin looks smoother and tighter. These results will continue to improve for the next 7 to 10 days. You should notice an improvement in the appearance of scars, wrinkles, sun damage, and pores. You will also see that the texture and tone of your skin is improved. Though just one treatment will transform your appearance, a series of four to six treatments will give your skin the best results.
What is the downtime?
There is very minimal down time with this peel. Your skin will be glowing immediately after the peel and you are able to resume normal activity straight away. You can expect shedding of the skin on day 2-3. The amount of shedding can vary with each individual.
Are there any side effects?
Common side effects include slight burning sensation, which settles within a few minutes. Irritation may occur but will be temporary.
